2. 5 hours allowed through distant learning (online/homestudy).
Maryland does not accept distance learning for initial certification requirements.
The 2. 5 hours of distance learning accepted for relicensure can only be applied from the second renewal period forward � distance learning can not be used on the initial (first) relicensure period.

Social Workers

40 CE credit hours required every 2 years - all may be earned with CHI Professional Development, Inc. CHI Professional Development, Inc's distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for Social Workers, as set forth by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.
40 credit hours are required for every two year renewal period. A licensee can earn up to 20 (category II) continuing education units from home study programs.
Three (3) Category I or Category II continuing education units, in the content area focusing on ethics and professional conduct, including boundary issues.
