Marriage & Family Therapists

CHI Professional Development, Inc's distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for QMHP's, MFT's, LPC's, as set forth by the Virginia Board of Counseling.
Due to Covid, QMHP's are required to take 16 credits for period ending June 30, 2021 and LPC's and MFT's are required to take 40 credits (4 in ethics) for period ending June 30, 2021.
2 credit hours must emphasize the ethics, standards of practice or laws governing behavioral science professions in Virginia.
An individual holding a QMHP-A and QMHP-C must renew their registration by June 30thof each year. QMHP-Trainees are not required to renew. QMHPs are required to complete a minimum of eight contact hours of continuing education for each annual registration renewal. A minimum of one of these hours must be in a course that emphasizes ethics.

30 CE credit hours required every 2 years - all may be earned with CHI Professional Development, Inc. CHI Professional Development, Inc's distant learning courses are available for continuing education credit for Social Workers, as set forth by the Virginia Board of Social Work.
30 CE credits in the licensing renewal periall may be distant learning (online/homestudy) courses. Per phone conversation with staff of the Board, all of our distant learning courses would be counted as Category I.
LCSW's need 6 hours in ethics. LBSW's and LMSW's need 3 credits in ethics.
