Substance Use Disorder and the Older Adult

Life expectancy is the longest it has been in history. The combination of the biopsychosocial factors of aging, coupled with the increase of narcotic pain and anxiety medication is increasing the risk of Substance Use Disorder in the older adult population. This workshop will identify risk factors as well as teach best practices to engage and treat alcoholism and substance abuse within this population.
